Our monthly giving program, Friends of Velocity, is a way for our most dedicated community members to get the most out of what Velocity has to offer. Friends of Velocity receive benefits such as invitations and free entry to Friends of Velocity events, discounted studio and space rentals, up to 20% off tickets, classes, and workshops—and so much more!

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

Velocity provides subsidized studio and performance space; a creative residency program that develops and promotes the work of movement artists locally and nationally; Guest Artist performances, and a robust training and education program for beginner to professional dancers. This tiered, community-based model allows us to serve dancers and movement artists in an impactful and sustainable way. None of these services are possible without the generous support of art lovers like you! In addition to one time and monthly recurring gifts, you can support Velocity in the following ways:

Volunteer

Velocity relies on our volunteers, work study volunteers, and interns. Please email info@velocitydancecenter if you’d like to join the hundreds of folx who keep Velocity moving. 

Matching Gifts

Velocity relies on direct donations to fund over 50% of our programming, and matching gifts are a great way to double or triple your impact. Velocity currently receives matching gifts from businesses and corporations like Expedia, Microsoft, Dell, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Nordstoms (including volunteer time matches), through the Seattle and King County employee giving programs and more. Donor Advised Funds

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction through your donor advised fund. These funds can be invested for tax-free growth and you can recommend grants to be directed to Velocity Dance Center. Corporate & Event Sponsorship

Corporate and event sponsorships range from $500 – $10,000 and help support Velocity’s seasons and artist services. Our main events include our annual fundraising BASH, and our Fall Kick-Off celebrations. Your company’s name and logo will be featured at the event and programming collateral throughout the season. Please contact our Development Director here if you would like to sponsor one of Velocity’s signature events.
